What to Expect With a Sports Physical at Cape Regional Urgent Care
Generally, school and sports physicals are intended to ensure that children can safely participate in the activities of their chosen program. If you’ve been given a specific form from your child’s school or sports program coordinator, make sure you bring that with you to the sports physical exam because it will provide your consulting doctor with direction regarding which of your child’s physical abilities to evaluate.
You’ll also want to be prepared to discuss your child’s medical history, including any medications that are taken regularly. Most youth physicals include a vision test, so bring your child’s glasses or contact lenses if applicable. At the end of the exam, your consulting doctor will sign the form indicating whether your child is fit to participate in the program without restrictions or with special provisions. (For example, a child with asthma may need to have an inhaler available at all times.) In some cases, follow-up actions may be needed before your child is considered physically fit for participation.
Our walk-in clinic is staffed by experienced, board-certified doctors and other highly qualified medical professionals, all intent on providing our patients with the individual attention they deserve. Our rates are affordable, and we also accept many health insurance plans. Contact us today if you have questions about our sports physicals or any of the other nonemergency medical services we offer to walk-in patients in the Wildwood area.
