What Is a Sports Physical?
A sports physical – also called a pre-participation physical – is a simple exam intended to ensure a child is in good health and can safely participate in their chosen sport. Most schools and programs require participants to submit proof of a sports physical before their sports season begins, so it’s important to bring your child in for their exam as soon as possible. The exam is brief and will include a physical exam as well as a discussion of your child’s medical history. Following the exam, our provider will sign a form verifying that the physical was conducted. If our provider does not find your child fit to participate, they will discuss their concerns with you thoroughly and recommend the best next steps to take.
